Decorous and Deadly: Three Ancient Weapons to Add in Your Man Cave

They say nothing beats the ‘classics.’ And when it comes to weaponry, there are three ancient weapons, which until today I truly, madly, and deeply adore, given my passion for traditional warfare:

Katana. You have seen them in your favourite ninja films, and they still exist today. If you love swords, owning a samurai sword really represents everything that makes Japanese swordsmen special. It’s a little hard to explain but the Katana’s distinctive features carry a sense of calmness, focus, and limitless admiration among the sword’s owners. It’s stronger than your average sword and has been demonstrated to cut through a human smoothly.

Shuriken. Useful for throwing, the shuriken is a true game changer if you want a small but deadly weapon. Although they may appear tiny, shuriken is pretty much effective to kill or incapacitate an enemy—especially in long range battles. According to Spike.com, shuriken has one of the most vicious cutting powers on an enemy’s weak spots, including the neck, hands, wrists, feet, or any flesh that is exposed.

Flail. Commonly used during the middle ages, this weapon can definitely damage an opponent’s shield with its lethal spikes. Although its precision is criticised due to its weight, it can literally take down an enemy with a single hit.

Simply put, these three weapons are some of the best when it comes to classic combat. But the thing that makes them truly valuable is their history and how they have shaped the world at times when they were truly needed.

As a hunter myself, I love discovering new weaponry for hunting. Follow me, Les Stein, on
